Can I be a student forever???

You can probably guess from the title of this post that I didn't get the job (boooooo!), but hey ho it's all good experience! Not. Sour. At. All. I'm pretty proud for not using it as another excuse to treat myself... Couldn't really justify it since my bank balance is still in a dire state and I no longer have even the possibility of a job lined up for after uni!!

Jeans // Primark // £13.00
Crop top // Topshop
Pointed heels // Primark // £12.00
Belt // Vintage
Tattoo Choker // eBay // £2.99
Gold Chain // Vintage
Watch //  Pulsar
Midi rings // River Island
No. 7 'Berry' lip crayon // Boots // £9.00

It's just a quicky today... I went out for drinks last night in my fav bar in Lincoln (Craft, you should really go if you're near!) and put this outfit together in a rush! It's a pretty simple look - something I would usually wear during the day (minus the heels obviously) - but I think it passes as a 'cocktails with the girls' outfit. I'm loving everything with a pointed toe at the minute, just makes everything look that little more 'dressier', and these midi rings are my favvvvv, I wear them to death! So yeah, it's all in the details!

Civilized drinks always ends up in a Saturday cider-head thanks to my lack of self-control, but with only a mere few weeks left at uni I'm taking every opportunity I can... even if I do have my final exam in 4 days. Oops!

Interviews are stressful.. I deserve a treat

Sooo I had my interview yesterday (genuinely the most nerve racking experience of my life!!) which obviously justified a treat! Why the hell not right?!

'Mom' jeans // Primark // £13.00
Black Sandals // Primark // £8.00
No.7 'Berry' lip crayon // Boots // £9.00

I've been wanting some 'mom' jeans for a while now but was worried I wouldn't be able to pull them off and end up looking ridiculous (think sack of potatoes-esque), so whilst wandering round town in a sulk, stressing over how my interview had gone I made a massive impulse buy and bought these beauty's from Primark (yes, PRIMARK! - I was shocked too) and now I can't stop thinking up the cutest outfits involving them! The possibilities are endlessssss!

The next thing to grab my attention were these cute black sandals, also from Primark, which - surprise, surprise - look A-MAZ-ING with the jeans! Everyone's been blogging about these and I can see why, for just £8 I'm gonna be getting me the white ones too!!

For so long I've been searching for a purple lip colour - be it lipstick, gloss or crayon - that doesn't look too OTT and lasts without turning in to a sticky mess, and HOORAY I've finally found one! No.7 High Shine Lip Crayon in Berry works a treat, so yet again my indulgences paid off! The best thing about it was I had one of those nifty '£3 off No.7' vouchers which sometimes pop out of the tills at Boots, making this a mere £6 aaaand I got another voucher whilst paying with the first one so an overall success I think you'd agree!!!!

I won't hear the outcome of my interview until sometime next week so until then have everything crossed for me and I'll just be sitting in my room - pulling my hair out in anticipation - and revising.. As per!

Pink Mohair Boyfriend Coat

Been eyeing up these boyfriend style coats for a while now but couldn't justify the excessive price tags until I found this baby in New Look! £54.99 reduced to £23! Not one to miss out on a bargain I just had to snap it up (anddd it's from their 'premium' range too which makes it all the more satisfying)!!

Boyfriend Coat // New Look // £23.00

I loooove the colour - not too bright to be over the top, but pink enough to be noticeable. Now I just need to wait patiently for the weather to brighten up so I can wear it without worrying it's going to get ruined (mohair + water = disaster!)

Not that waiting is too much of an issue at the minute; my final EVER exam of uni is edging nearer and nearer (hee haw hee hawwww!) so I'm spending most of my time locked up in my room revising, hence I've got plenty of time to sit and wait for the sunshineee! Might even wear the coat while I revise in the hope it will bring me luck... debatable!

Oh, but I have got a job interview! It's this Friday (shit that seems so much closer when I write it!) and I'm so nervous, I really should start preparing, but I'm a little preoccupied with WHAT ON EARTH DO I WEAR TO A PROPER, SERIOUS, REAL JOB, CAREER INTERVIEW?!? Send help, please...

Mesh on mesh on mesh...

Nothing gets me more excited than a fresh ASOS delivery and this mornings was no different thanks to this beauty; a light grey, longline mesh top with contrast back zip, and at only £12.50 (currently reduced, GO GO GO!) I don't even feel the slightest bit guilty!!!

Mesh seems to be all the rage at the minute and I can see why. It can be dressed both up and down, and is the perfect go-to item when you're having one of those inevitable mornings where you just can't seem to find anything to wear (despite having a wardrobe over flowing with clothes!), so here's my suggestions:

Grey mesh top // ASOS  // £12.50
Black bandeau // New Look // £2.99
Black DIY shorts (made from Leigh jeans) // Topshop // £38.00
Checked shirt // River Island // too long ago to remember £!
Suspender tights // Topshop // £8.50
Black flatform trainers // New Look // £12.99
(Love the grunge look!!)

 Grey mesh top // ASOS  // £12.50
Black bralet // Missguided // £9.99
Black jersey tube skirt // H&M // £3.99
Black pointed shoes // Primark // £12.00

Grey mesh top // ASOS // £12.50
Black bralet // Missguided // £9.99
Leigh jeans with DIY rips // Topshop // £38.00
Boots // H&M // £17
Bowler hat // New Look // £14.99
Imitation leather bag // H&M // £24.99
(Still a little obsessed with the Missguided bralet as you can tell!)

I made both the black shorts and black jeans with knee rips myself from a couple of pairs of old, faded Topshop Leigh jeans (THE best jeans ever!), but if you don't have any you fancy chopping up this look can just as easily be made with a cheap pair bought from Primark - they sell jeans from as little as £9!!

This has got to be hands down my favourite piece at the moment and I cannot wait to take it on it's first outing tonight (sporting outfit nĂºmero 2; perfect for a night out)! Eeeeek!

What do you think about the 'mesh' trend and what would you pair this with?? : )

I would live in this if I could!

Last week I bought this cute black crepe bralet from Missguided.co.uk (thought I'd treat myself since they were offering 20% student discount!) and I absolutely love it! It's just so versatile!

I ordered mine in a size 6 and thought jeeeeesus I am never going to squeeze into this when I first opened it, BUT never fear, since it's made out of a stretchy crepe material it fit perrrrfectly on; nice and tight which is just what you need when you can't wear a bra with it (well, not without ruining the pretty neckline anyway!).

I love how girly it makes everything look; you can literally transform your outfit from day to night just by opting for this over your usual generic black crop or vest!

Here's a few ways I wore it:

Black bralet // Missguided // £9.99
Leigh Jeans // Topshop // £38.00
Kimono // H&M // £14.99
Boots // H&M // £34.99 (now £17 in the sale!)

Black bralet // Missguided // £9.99
High-waisted silk shorts // eBay (originally River Island) // £5.99
Imitation leather jacket // New Look // £34.99
Heels // Primark // £12.00

Black bralet // Missguided // £9.99
Maxi Skirt // Primark // £10.00

Seriously, if it was socially acceptable (and not so gross) I would live in this little number! It's so simple yet so flattering, and comes in loads of pretty pastel colours and patterns too! I definitely need to invest in the lot since I can see myself living in these over the summer!!

How would you wear yours?

Bonjour!

Hiya I'm Rosie! A 21 year-old psychology student, originally from Norwich, but living and studying in Lincoln. Since I'll be finishing my degree this month (ahhhhh!) I figured I'm going to need something to keep me sane whilst entering the 'real world' (consisting of little more than monotonous 9-5 working days, or so I've been told!) -  so welcome to my fashion and style blog!

I'm obsessed with all things clothes/fashion/style-related and follow endless fashion channels and blogs to source outfit inspiration so I thought I'd join in on the fun and show people my fave styles and must-haves! Although keeping up with the latest trends is a lot easier said than done when you're a student living off next to nothing, I try my best to always be 'in the know' when it comes to the do's and dont's of fashion (I sometimes try too hard I'm sure my bank balance would argue!).

Sooo I want to blog about real clothes, that real people can afford and buy (instead of this 'thousands of £'s for a handbag' malarkey!), and since the majority of my wardrobe comes from high-street shops - such as Topshop, H&M, River Island and Zara - and online fashion stores like ASOS and Missguided, I hope I can show how financially crippled fashion enthusiasts and students like myself can still have style (...questionable) without spending the megabucks!!

I've already come to the realisation that writing a blog is no easy feat! How ever hard is it to think of a catchy blog name for starters??? (And there was me thinking that would be the easy part!) But what girl doesn't love Mean Girls and clothes, right?, so I opted for the Mean Girls-esque 'i like your skirt ...where did you get it?' ENJOY!

There you have it, my first ever blog post! I'll be posting a couple of times a week - everything from my outfits of the day to my top picks and more - so check back if you're a fashion-lover and let me know what you think (what you like OR what you don't like!), it'll be great to hear from you!

P.S. Be nice, I'm new to this! : )
